Miniscule Progess and Mustard Seed Faith – Katherine Bowden

A mustard seed is miniscule

A mustard seed is miniscule

The neurologist said Katherine’s improvement since the bleeding stopped in her brain is “miniscule.”  On Friday her eyes flickered when she was asked to open them.  Today, Saturday, she opened them when asked.  She squeezed a hand on command a few times and not.  Yes, that is miniscule.  It is two wee, tiny steps – miniscule –  in waking up.

Katherine has to wake up to heal.  She has to wake up to recover as much as she can.

A mustard seed is miniscule.  But, faith as miniscule as a mustard seed is great and powerful indeed.

Matthew 13:31   He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.”

Matthew 17:20   He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Mark 4:30-32  Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth.  Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”

Luke 13:18-19  Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds perched in its branches.”

Luke 17:6   He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Romans 10:17 – So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Katherine’s faith is much larger than a mustard seed.  So is that of the many people praying for her.

Let the miniscule faith do mighty work in waking Katherine up.  Wake up, now, please.
