Eric Cantor Today

Cong. Eric Cantor, 7 CD VA

Surprise visitor to the quarterly meeting of the State Central Committee, Republican Party of Virginia.  Congressman Cantor popped in.   Gave a good rah-rah, short speech on the debt ceiling negotiations.  Thanked the Republican Party folks for their support.  Given the seriousness of the issues with the debt ceiling negotiations, this was better than the usual political theater.  He looked good.   Seemed determined to hang tough.   Sure hope so.

When push comes to shove, most politicians reveal that MY-CAREER-ONLY, MY-FAMILY-ONLY, or ME-ONLY is their governing belief.

  2. Thanks so much for your comment. Sometimes the politicians do the right thing. We will see.

  3. Politicians are people. Without sufficient support, we all tend to find ourselves weaker than we ever anticipated. So I hope the State Central Committee helped to add a little steel to Cantor’s spine.
