Muslim and American Are Conflicting Terms

 A Muslim-Army major murdered many people and wounded many more at Ft Hood today.   Since 1775 no Christian or Jewish officer has ever done that.   Yet, it isn’t a surprise that a Muslim officer would do it - if he were a devout Muslim.   A Muslim-American officer has to choose to be a devout Muslim or a good American.  One can not be both.

Read the Koran.  Read the Haddith.  Read History.  Read the news. 

The Koran says to attack Jews and Christians by name and other non-believers in Islam.   If a Muslim chooses to never attack Jews, Christians and other non-believers then he must reject, ignore, or disobey part of the Koran and the Hadith. 

The Koran says that Muslims must live under Sharia Law.  Americans live under secular law in a Judeo-Christian culture, civilization and nation.  If a devout Muslim wants to be a good American he must reject, ignore, or disobey part of the Koran and the Hadith.

But, Islam teaches submission to God by following all of the Koran and Hadith.  No exception.  No exemptions. 

Best wishes to every Muslim who is willing to compromise his relatively (to Western Civilization) barbarian religion and deny ever living under Sharia Law – to be a good American.  

Because every Muslim who won’t deny the desire or possibility of ever having Sharia Law in the U.S. isn’t – by definition – an American.  He may hold the passport that says he is American.  But, supporting Sharia Law in the U.S. is anathema to the ideas that define an American.   Believing all of the Koran – as Islam teaches for good Muslims – is an essential rejection of being an American.

No one can be a devout, whole hog (pun intended) Muslim and good American.  Sharia Law is bizarro world, ancient barbarism, backward and wholly incompatible to the U.S and Virginia Codes of Laws.  

If the Ft Hood memorial service for the victims includes a Muslim iman, the audience should show a little Elijah and the priests of Baal and Asheroth sensitivity.  Boo him when he prays to Allah in public or just stand up and turn the back.

Back in business in the Old Dominion

Big wins in Virginia – congratulations to Bob, Bill and Ken.  And, in my district to Tom Gear.  Sorry that Phil Hamilton lost.   Very sorry.

Big wins in Virginia but the big story is NY 23.  If the Conservative whens there over both the Democrats and the Establishment Republicans, it shows the world of the possible for throwing out all the incumbents  – except for the 10 or less Constitutional Republicans in the House and handful, if any, in the Senate.

It Coulda Been Jan Hus

On October 31st, 1517 Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the door of the Wittenberg Church.   It became the official start of the Protestant Reformation.  492 years of new light on the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jan Hus could have started the whole movement the century before but he trusted in a truce with the Roman Catholic church authorities – and was burned at the stake.  Martin Luther hid out, was protected and took the time to translate the Bible into German.   Essentially creating written German. 

I’m so grateful for my ancestors’ decisions when faced with two views of truth.  Some had their lives threatened and fled to Virginia as religious refugees.   Which makes me all the more thankful.

The full flowering of the English branch and, thus, the American branch of Western Civilization was fundamentally shaped, watered, feed and exploded in growth with Protestant thought.   Obviously, the Protestant thinking stood on the shoulders of Roman Catholic, Roman, Greek and Hebrew thought – as well as the unique Anglo-Saxon, Norman and Celtic inputs.  Especially since Magna Charta in 1215.

Protestant ideas are essential to American Civilization.  America never would have become America without them.  We would be a variation on a theme of Latin America.  

I celebrate Reformation Day for the blessings the Protestant Reformation brought America.  The world.  My family – all clans.  And me. 

Soul sufficiency.  Priesthood of the believers.  Sola Scriptura.

Geopolitics to Virginia

The view from 1990-92 on how Geopolitics will matter to Virginia 2005-2015.    Name the Geopolitical issue and see what questions it raises with what big ideas in the background. 

I made up the word ‘finitudes’ to describe the finite resources of land, air and water which must be protected and used carefully with good stewardship.  I wrote about it in op eds – how the taxation and policies shouldn’t focus on what money can be garnered for government, but what is the best way to care for the finite resources in a just way.

Today, I’d add the pressue from illegal aliens and the threat for Islamists among the Muslim immigrants.

The He/She/It Homecoming Queen 2009

The College of William & Mary undergraduates selected a very troubled classmate as their Homecoming Queen.  Certainly it was all a big joke to many of them.  All done in great fun.  And the young man, who sometimes is a girl or might have the operations to become an ersatz surgical and chemical girl sorta, said he had only compliments.   This approving atmosphere must mean that Tolerance (always with a cap like another narrative icon – Diversity) is quite the fashi0n at William & Mary. 

Tolerance is the politically correct mix of bias, prejudice and perversion that makes some speech approved and some speech, down to specific words, Verboten.   Tolerance stains some folks with original and unfogiveable imputed sins of their ancestry.  Tolerance forgives other folks, known as protected classes of persons, any and all thoughts, words or behaviors.  Tolerance estblishes a hierarchy of evil and a mirror of grades of good under the Liberal Human Secularist trinity of race, class and gender(s).  Tolerance promotes laws against thought crimes – and calls them hate speech and hate crimes.  Tolerance suppresses the wrong free speech because the Tolerant ideas of the twin totalitarianisms – Human Secularism and Islam – can’t compete in the marketplace of ideas.   Tolerance diminishes good and enhances evil as it tries to blur the lines between the two.

But, there is no justice without a judgement dividing innocent from guilty, good from bad, right from wrong,  righteous from evil.

In addition to the compliments, the transgendered Homecoming Queen heard, there should be other messages.  (Isn’t it nice that every deviation of sexuality and sexual behavior has its own neutral name now?)

One message given her/him/it in private should be a word of concern.  “I’m sorry that someone put you up to this.  They are mocking you as much as milking you for their Liberal agenda.  I hope you can find the best way to be a man, soon.”

Or, “I’ll be praying for you.  I’d be glad to listen any time.  I’m sure you are conflicted, but you can get help to be a normal, straight man.”

And, variations on that theme that show compassion and empathy for his/her/its gender issues.   Yet, an optimism that he/she/it can get well and whole.   With the clear goal that getting better isn’t about promoting perversity and calling it normal, right, inclusive, tolerant, good or honorable.   An assurance that joy and peace are found in the Bible – where the truth of Jesus, not a surgeon’s knive will set him/her/it free.

There’s another thing worse that supporting the intolerance of Tolerance.  It is tragedy of promoting and honoring what should not be promoted or honored.   And being heedless and heartless to unanswered suffering of a severely disturbed young person.

What tax increases vs. cuts do to incomes and income distribution

Choose between the two Americas.  See which one is better.  President Obama proposes an American of hope and change based on income redistribution.  See what happens to the income of Americans under his socialist economics. Even if you support Liberal class warfare, look what happens to the poor and middle classes.  I named my vision of America, which is shared by millions of Conservatives and Libertarians, our Munificent Destiny.  See how capital growth provides more dignity, justice and hope for all individuals.

The starting stats came from a Heritage Organization posting on the web.  The multipliers are those I recall from graduate school economics (JFK School of Government, Harvard University, CL ‘81).  The unemployment factors are extrapolated from the latest Labor Department Bureau of Statistics on the web. 

Here is how to see the two Americas.

Say the total income of the U.S. in one year = $100.00.  (Note that income is much different than wealth).   The distribution of income has the same starting point for the Blue Socialism and Red Free Markets.  It’s very skewed.  The rich are getting much more income than the poor. 

So, going down the blue side, BHO and the Dems raise taxes.  Less than half of American workers actually pay income taxes.  Lower income workers pay social security, healthcare, and sales taxes.  Many of them get the money back plus a bonus, but it isn’t called ‘welfare’, in unearned tax ‘credits.’

Every dollar that goes into government produces less than 28 cents in services.  Estimate 25% in transfer payments, government jobs and contracts.

Then, adjust for the loss of jobs.  Every $150m in taxes kills 5,000 jobs.  Those workers drop out of all quintiles and lower the sum of the wages of the lowest two quintiles.  The result is that the bottom two quintiles don’t get ahead.  Some individuals will make more money from their government job or contract.  But, a greater number of individuals will lose their jobs and move down the income ladder.

 Going the down the red side, we as a Nation create capital.  It’s what Milton Friedman described as the engine of our national economy.  Capital growth increased the per capita income ninetyfold (90 times larger per person) from 1870 to 1960. 

If Constitutional Republicans swept Establishment Republicans and Democrats out of office in 2010 and 2012 in large enough numbers, then taxes could be cut as much as BHO wants to raise them. 

Three quintiles get an immediate increase in income.  This fuels a 10% increase in the economy.  (If nothing is done – including no new taxes – the economy should grow by 3% or so).  The 10% increase was computed from the original income distribution – pre-taxes.

The growth of capital in the economy grows jobs.

Compare and contrast the results across the bottom row.  Note that the total U.S. income falls to $84 under BHO for the same population that has $124 with capital growth.  Which America do you choose?

Finally, when I was a politician for 3 weeks in 2007, my watchwords were ‘Dignity, Justice, and Hope.’  There is a way to make these more real for many, more individuals.  Class warfare and socialism isn’t the way. Growing capital is the path to a Munificent Destiny.   A destiny as important for this century as Magnificent Destiny was for 19^th Century America.

This is evidence of the end times for American Civilization – unless We, The People fix the Nation.  The evidence comes from where America began – in Virginia.  Williamsburg, no less.  The College of William and Mary, second oldest college in the country,  got rid of its mascot – the Tribe – lest the idea of a tribe of Indians as mascots offend Indians.  Using the image of Indians as an icon of courage, athletic ability and team spirit is demeaning to the Puritan Liberals, the Keepers of PC.

So, here is what is being considered:

What wussiness.  Such wussification. 

William and Mary should choose a symbol that strikes fear and trembling across college campuses.   The College of William and Mary’s new mascot should be the “armed, Indian-fighting, actively procreating heterosexual, married, White, Protestant, English-speaking, 17th century Virginia Colonial settler.”   Liberal athletes, students and faculty will quake in terror.  Great pyschological advantage in any game.

And, there are plenty of costumes available in Williamsburg.

If William and Mary wanted to go all the way in creating a mascot to terrorize, they could choose the later colonial settlers – the 18th Century Scot-Irish who settled in The Valley and the mountains from Maine to Georgia.  After a generation of isolation on the frontier - fending for themselves – they were called “white savages.”   Scary, huh?  These people forged the dominant sub-culture that pushed the frontier all the way to the Pacific. 

Settlers and frontiersmen – those would be good mascots.

When you stop laughing, consider what you teach your children.  Are they PC pukes  or proud American exceptionalists?  Will they defend American Civilization - and save Western Civilization or be wusses who deserve to live under nanny state socialist totalitarianism or Sharia law?

Social Challenges in Virginia 2005-15

So, in 1990-92, what did we think would be the social challenges of 2005-2015.  Pretty much linear extrapolation of problems then.  The illegal immigrant issue was seen in another presentation as a large threat to the U.S.  But, it didn’t come up on our radar as a specific social challenge.  Looks like we never quessed that both Democrat and Republican administrations would not enforce our sovereign borders and immigration laws. 

The U.S. Culture War, our third American Civil War (ACW III), has a nice demarcation start point with the U.S. Supreme Court ruling to end prayer in public schools.  This KulturKampf continues unabated.  The sides are becoming more polarized.  The moderate, mushy middle is thinning out.  It will keep going until either the Free market, individual rights, rule of law, Judeo-Christian culture from the American Revolution (ACW I) or the socialist, group rights, rule of elites, Human Secularist culture from the French Revolution wins.  The winner will face Islam in a global death struggle – after Europe becomes Muslim by the end of this century - unless things really change.

15 Year Projection for Education and Economics

Still pushing my way through the Army 21 long range futures study – as I shaped it to fit Virginia’s future for the same period.  Which is now.  The work was done 15 years before hand (and the crowd went, “Ah!”).  Also, I know I could make two blog entries out of this, but I want to move on and finish this series of Futures Tutorials, or least the series on this work from 1990-92.

You read the slide from left to right, as we are wont to do in Western Civilization.  The Issues column is what we projected – and I edited for Virginia – as issues in the disciplines of Education and Economics – in the far away future of 2005-2015.  The Questions column are the short labels of what question needs to be resolved to settle the issue.   The Idea column is what fundamental idea in the discipline – as it relates to Virginia and America – is in dispute in that foggy future of 2005-2015.

Not a bad projection of today – from 1990-92, right? 

In the Economics section please note the idea of creating capital.  It is the sina qua non of improving economic health.  Creating capital means real capital representing services and goods to be exchanged.  It isn’t the BHO and his socialist lackeys, laughingly called Democrats, and their tools in the LeftMedia, fawning over Government printed money.  That isn’t capital.  That is the phoney capital that creates inflation.  It passes for money, but just for awhile.

And, please see one of the reasons BHO got elected.   The tough shake downs of the Industrial Economy transforming into the Information Economy causes human pain and suffering.  Less than destroying either economy – as many Americans will soon find out under BHO.  But, those tough adjustments call into question what is the social contract for citizens – and what does it mean for the role of government and business in a mixed economy (actually “government and business in a mixed economy” was the title of one of the best courses I took in grad schools.  The late Dick Darman and Roger Porter.)

The word ‘finitudes’ is a term I made up.  It means the truly finite resources of Virginia, or any political geography, in water, air, land and time (labor) of its people.

I’d be glad to discuss any point and what the thinking was in 1990-2.   Likewise, where are we today and how far on or off the mark was this long range future ‘analysis’.  Or, for the real geeks among us – more on the methodology that brought these findings.   Or, not.
